There was once a loving, caring, compassionate, and understanding woman named Auntie Comfort Adwo Ghanson. This woman was popular and known for her piety, love, and kindness, she became a person of influence to the Ghanaian community in Manassas. Most people called her Maa Comfort because of her generosity and motherhood provided to the community, others called her mayor of Manassas because of her popularity and influence.
On September 2020 death laid its’ ugly hands on this noble woman after a short illness. The news sent shocking waves of sadness and sorrow to the Ghanaian community in Manassas and the neighboring cities. Many in the community who consider themselves adopted children of Maa Comfort, rally together in solidarity and raised a substantial amount of money in a short time to support the family, in an effort to pay back the love and kindness given by this generous woman. This occasion invoked love and oneness amongst people in the community. In other to continue the legacy of love and kindness, an association was born to help members in times of need and named in memory of Auntie Comfort, now known as Comfort Association of Manassas (May her memories be a blessing)
